Who will be the Ayden Citizen of the Year for 2011?

 

The Ayden Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for the Ayden Citizen of the Year Award.

 

The criteria for the award is as follows:

 

Civic Activities: Nominee must be involved in activities that enhance the livability and the profitability of the Ayden area.

Business Involvement: Nominee must be involved for the good of the community, the creation of new jobs, and work toward a better economic environment.

General Reputation: Nominee must be of such reputation and good character that the Ayden Chamber of Commerce can be proud to present the nominee as a winner and representative of Ayden.

Contribution to the Community: Nominee must generally have contributed for a period of years. The exception is if the nominee demonstrates extraordinary dedication in a year in which achievement of a project would not have been feasible without the assistance of the nominee. A nominee will not be considered for a second awarding of the annual award unless the nominee has provided exemplary service to the community in an overwhelming way in a single year or in successive years.

 

Residence: The nominee must reside within the Ayden area that is served by Ayden utilities.

The award will be the highlight of the annual dinner of the Ayden Chamber of Commerce held in March, date to be announced.
